- Create site plan renderings for presentations
- Utilize structural software, particularly Hilti Profis and STAAD Pro, for structural design and documentation
- Design and analyze structural systems for the installation of our energy servers at existing buildings including healthcare facilities, data centers, and educational institutions
- Design and detail foundations and support systems for energy infrastructure, including:
- Server equipment pads and foundations
- Building-mounted conduit support systems
- Lightning protection pole foundations
- Equipment anchorage and isolation systems
- Seismic and vibration considerations for sensitive equipment
- Sound, screening, and retaining wall design
- Related structural calculations and construction documentation
- Prepare detailed calculations and reports to justify design decisions and ensure structural compliance
- Collaborate with engineers and other designers to ensure cohesive design and compliance with Building and Construction code requirements and to internal specifications required for Bloom Energy fuel cell systems
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining efficiency and meeting deadlines
- Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files, and related information
- Provide Construction Administration support by responding to construction submittals and RFIs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; Master's degree preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, Hilti Profis, STAAD Pro, and other structural design software (e.g., RAM, ETABS)
- Experience with 3D modeling software such as AutoTURN
- Must have experience in preparing grading designs and understand site topography, development of storm water management, erosion/sediment control, and site control plans from concept design through permitting & approvals and construction completion.
- Knowledge of building codes and standards related to construction projects (i.e. IBC, NFPA, NEC, ASCE, AWWA)
- Experience in structural design with various materials including masonry, steel, and concrete
- Skills in earthwork analysis and cut/fill calculations
- Exceptional organization, verbal and written communication skills that include a minimum of the following:
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, concise manner for a non-technical audience.
- Ability to interact professionally and collaboratively with engineers of different disciplines
- Ability to confidently and clearly define engineering requirements. Self-starter that shows the ability to work independently and under minimal supervision.
- Ability to make decisions on key technical issues in a demanding, fast paced environment
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a bonus
