Job Description
At Voltalia we are passionate about renewable energies! We are an electricity producer from wind, solar, hydro, biomass and storage and also a service provider to 3rd party clients such as Development, EPC, O&M and Distribution.Today we are in 20 countries, split among 4 continents, and offering a global operating capacity to our clients. We are listed on the regulated Euronext market in Paris since July 2014.
Are you a skilled technician with a passion for renewable energy? We have an exciting opportunity for you! We're seeking a talented O&M Technician to join our team in the South West region, focusing on the maintenance and operation of utility-scale solar.
In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring the efficient performance and longevity of solar installations, carrying out routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs. Your expertise will be key in optimizing energy production and minimizing downtime.
Responsibilities
- Compliance with KPI’s, which are contractually defined with customers and partners
- Analyse and solve technical issues that occur
- Provide both fast on-site and remote troubleshooting.
- Recommend and implement fault recovery solutions for reestablishing production
- Interpret drawings and wiring diagrams
- Conduct maintenance services on electrical components
- Diagnosing failures and troubleshooting
- Maintenance reporting
- Carry out on-site specialized technical maintenance activities
- Follow-up reports on the operation and maintenance activities
- Compliance with the preventive maintenance plan for all equipment
- Operation and resolution of all existing faults
- Attend and support emergencies on the PV plants in your area, as required or in any other county where Voltalia is managing PV plants
- Participate in integrated commissioning and start-up activities in any other county where Voltalia is managing PV plants
- Participate in an on-call Rota as and when required; ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and legal requirements at all times
Requirements
- Professional Electrical Qualification (mandatory)
- 3+ years of qualified electrical experience in similar Electrical technical maintenance functions
- 18th edition wiring regulations qualifications required
- City & Guilds Inspection and Testing.
- Knowledge of maintenance management systems and processes
- Experience in Medium and High Voltage maintenance (preferred)
- Experience in data acquisition and communications system
- Technical Design knowledge (utility scale)
- Knowledge of photovoltaic solar energy (Wind, Storage Projects or other, is also important);
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Proficient in English reading/ writing/ speaking (mandatory)
- Clean Driving Licence
- Availability to travel for limited periods and on short notice
