We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to Director, Electrical Engineering and based in San Jose, CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist engineers in the research, design, development and test of a variety of electrical systems used in distributed energy resources, hydrogen generation and microgrids.
- Investigate future technologies and architectures, in particular on microgrids and battery storage systems.
- Design subsystems in new product line and suggest/make improvements to existing products under the direction of other senior engineers.
- Provide technical support for existing products to analyze design and process related issues, production and field problems
- Carry out various test programs to evaluate performance of new and existing products
- Prepare project report and present to team in the last week of internship.
Skills and Experience
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering graduating by Summer 2026
- This internship program is from June to August 2025
- Thorough understanding of electrical power systems, power electronics, control systems.
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, battery storage or grid parallel systems is a plus.
- Modelling power electronics in Matlab or PSCAD is a plus.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Critical thinking, able to think “outside the box.”
- Good communication skills.
- Hands-on experience in laboratory environment or similar industry design experience is a plus but not essential.
