Job Description

The Legal Operations and Compliance Analyst will assist in optimizing legal operations and ensuring compliance with contract requirements. This role involves analyzing and improving legal processes, monitoring compliance activities, and supporting data-driven decision-making within the legal department.

Hours/Type: Full Time, Exempt

Department: Legal

Travel: 5%

Primary Responsibilities

  • Legal Operations Support
    • Analyze and improve legal department processes to enhance operational efficiency.
    • Support the implementation and management of legal technology solutions, including case management and document automation systems.
  • Compliance Monitoring
    • Monitor compliance with contract requirements and assist in conducting regular compliance audits.
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures.
    • Track and report on compliance activities and metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
    • Maintain accurate records of insurance policies, claims, and related documentation.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting
    • Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to legal operations and compliance.
    • Prepare and maintain reports and dashboards to communicate key performance indicators and compliance status to stakeholders.
    • Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
  • Process Improvement
    • Identify inefficiencies and propose solutions to improve legal and compliance processes.
    • Assist in developing and implementing standard operating procedures and best practices.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping
    • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities, legal operations metrics, and departmental processes.
    • Ensure that documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible for audits and reviews.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with compliance and operational goals.
    • Assist in training and educating staff on compliance policies and legal procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To succeed as a Legal Operations and Compliance Analyst at Apex Clean Energy, you’ll need to excel within the following criteria:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent work experience); certifications in compliance, paralegal studies, or legal operations are a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in legal operations, compliance, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with legal technology solutions and case management systems. Experience with Smartsheet and SharePoint preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present data and insights clearly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and interact with various levels of the organization.
