The ideal candidate is responsible for maintaining and improving the process and production line KPI such as efficiency, yield, cost, productivity and reliability of the products. This role also involves leading a group of technicians to perform the daily routine tasks, experimentation, process optimization, failure analysis and problem-solving activities. The Process Engineer will work closely with cross-functional team in the production line to keep machines and processes operational.
Primary Responsibilities
- Optimize and improve energy storage system conversion efficiency, yield, reliability and cost associated with the process and implement related projects according to the process KPI and timelines.
- Identify causes, resolve and prevent production line and customer issues by using problem solving methods and best industry practices. Drive for continuous improvement in the process, procedures, materials and equipment. Write and present detailed reports in a timely manner to communicate projects and issues in the production line.
- Lead, manage and train process technicians in carrying daily routine tasks. Ensure continuous skill improvement of the technicians by doing regular trainings and assessment
- Qualify, stabilize, improve technology and/or product transfer, new processes, materials and equipment to support production and quality requirements. Review and improve process CpK
- Coordinate and work with internal cross functional team and overseas affiliates to benchmark and implement energy storage system efficiency improvement and cost reduction projects
- Create, maintain, improve and continuously update relevant documentation such as SOP, FMEA, Control Plans, OCAP, maintenance procedures and others as required by the company’s quality policy.
- Support other company KPIs such as safety, output, yield, quality, product delivery, company certifications, 5S and other related initiatives as provided by the management
- Complete trainings to improve technical and leadership skills. Write training materials, conduct trainings and maintains training records of the technicians. Remain current in the industry technology trends.
- Other activities and tasks assigned by managers.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering with major in chemical, material science, microelectronics, or any related field
- Preferred with at least 1-2 years experiences in battery industry or process engineering function.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with team members, other departments, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Responsible, able to complete tasks independently and on-time, fast learner, with technical and problem-solving skill.
- Working knowledge in process engineering, production and quality systems.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards in all aspects of equipment engineering and maintenance.
- Flexible to work overtime, off-shift, or extended hours as needed to support the continuous production schedule, including both scheduled and unscheduled process or equipment recovery, as well as any other situations deemed necessary by the manager to ensure smooth operations.
- Ability to work effectively during assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, or other non-standard hours as required.
- Mandarin Required.
