Job Description

Vestas Digital Solutions (DS) is where the digital backbone of Vestas is, developed, tested, and improved. To put it short, Vestas digital Solutions is the cornerstone of Vestas where we shape the best digital environment to develop the energy solutions of the future. We are developing modern energy.

Simulation Development is a new, rapidly growing department of highly motivated engineers, responsible for propelling, defining, and ensuring that both short and long-term targets are met for HOW we simulate across our wind turbine platforms and modules. The department naturally interfaces with all major turbine and power plant design areas, improving the model simulation interfaces, and simulation processes to guarantee increasingly effective, efficient, and connected simulation products for our turbines and power plants the department is also responsible for the overall simulation strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Roadmap & Innovation: Manage the technical stack roadmap, ensuring alignment with business and innovation goals
  • Team Leadership & Mentoring: Mentor and coach software developers to enhance skills and create a balanced work environment
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure high-quality software development through best practices, code reviews, and other quality assurance measures
  • Cloud & IoT Solutions: Oversee the implementation and optimization of cloud-based and IoT solutions, ensuring they are scalable and secure
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable seamless integration across platforms and systems
  • DevOps & CI/CD: Guide DevOps strategies, ensuring CI/CD best practices and automation are in place for efficiency and reliability
  • Agile Practices: Maintain and promote agile methodologies, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement within the team

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience in software development and leadership roles.
  • Extensive experience with Azure cloud services, C#, .NET, Rust, and Python.
  • Experience with IoT solutions, DevOps pipelines, and cloud-based architectures.
  • Effective ability to mentor, coach, and develop technical teams with experience in building skills and improving outcomes.

Competencies

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field. A Master’s degree or additional certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure certifications, DevOps certifications, or Agile certifications) are desirable and considered an added value.
