Job Description
The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic partner providing expert HR guidance to support the achievement of business objectives. The HRBP is responsible for aligning HR initiatives with organizational goals, recruitment and selection, performance management, learning and development, HR Administration and Data reporting.
R&Rs
Annual Manpower Plan
- Working with the Head of HR, the job holder will oversee the budget preparation for human resource functional areas, including new headcount requirements, training requirements, employee benefits, insurances and welfare.
Recruitment & Selection
- Align recruitment processes in business unit to the recruitment strategy, policies and procedures as aligned to the approved manpower plan.
- Coordinate interview schedules and communicate with candidates throughout the process.
- Assist in new employee onboarding, including preparing orientation materials, conducting paperwork processing, and facilitating orientation sessions.
Advisory Services & Administration
- Liaise closely with Head of HR to identify issues or opportunities and the impact on staff,
- Act as trusted advisor through the provision of guidance to the Business Partners and staff on HR policies and procedures,
- Facilitate organizational design interventions inclusive of job profiling, job evaluation and structural alignment,
- Be the first point of contact on grievances and disciplinary issues, working with the business partner towards resolution to maintain a sound employee relations environment,
- Process regular updates to Payroll on new recruits, internal movements and terminations and therein maintain an update in the HCM,
- Facilitate training on HR policies and procedures inclusive of benefits, to provide updates to staff members,
- Support the Head of HR in the coordination of HR projects to ensure projects meet the stipulated timeframes and deliverables,
- Facilitate the implementation of employee wellness programmes, through the provision of preventative and curative healthcare programmes, counselling, advisory services and support,
Performance Management
- Facilitate training to line management on the performance management process and system while ensuring policies and procedures are adhered to,
- Facilitate the performance appraisals process and ensure that Performance Agreements and Individual Development Plans (IDPs) are in place for every staff member and well captured in the HCM,
- Identify performance management risks and make recommendations to the Head of HR on mitigating actions to reduce risks.
Data Management
- Update and maintain HR databases with accurate employee information, ensuring data integrity.
- Generate reports and analytics on HR metrics as needed.
Capability Building
- Establishing employee training requirements (both in-house and external programs), including training needs assessment, new employee orientation/onboarding, management development and the measurement of training impact.
Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal processes and procedures
- Assist in preparing reports and data for audits, compliance reviews, and surveys.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive HR information and records.
Health & Safety Initiative
- Working with the head of HR, assist in the implementation of workplace safety and health programs and ESG initiatives, including tracking and posting OSHA-required data and filing reports.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, Business Studies or Social Sciences from a recognized university
- Higher National Diploma in Human Resources Management or related field will be an added advantage.
- At least 3 years’ progressive work experience in similar positions with related responsibilities
- Practical experience in implementing strategies for managing performance, motivation, and change
- Familiarity with the National and International Labor Laws
- Multitask oriented, organized, set priorities and meets deadlines
- Strong mindset for continuous improvement and meeting or exceeding expectations and able to demonstrate complete discretion and confidentiality,
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills,
- Passion for social enterprise, development of people and environmental benefits.
