Job Description

NextEra Energy is seeking a technically skilled leader to manage a portfolio of new and developing solar and storage assets in the Northeast Region of the US, to include New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, New Jersey, Virginia, Michigan, and Wisconsin. The individual will lead a team of technicians in the daily operations and maintenance of solar and storage assets varying in size and scale. The ideal candidate will live in the region to support the travel schedule. The manager will be responsible for the safety of all personnel and environmental compliance with all required regulatory permits. The individual will be responsible for delivering on key performance indicators including availability, production, and cost.

Leaders are expected to:

  • Collaborate with peers, stake holders, central organizations support team, vendors and OEMs for the furtherance of organizations goals
  • Ensures all safety, environmental, performance, and budget targets are met
  • Develop and grow the team/business
  • Oversees and approves procurement activities of the site
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Strongly Preferred

  • Engineering Degree- Electrical preferred
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and management skills
  • Solid technical background and field services experience with strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior organizational, time management and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple complicated tasks and achieve flawless execution
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong business process management skills
  • Six Sigma skills or equivalent quality skills
  • Travel Required - 50%

Job Overview

This job leads a team involved in operating a power plant. Under general direction, leaders in this role manage all aspects of site business and operations, achieving all production and business targets while maintaining an injury-free work site.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensures all business activities are conducted following corporate policies and are in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal permits, codes, standards, and regulations
  • Develops multi-year Operations and Maintenance budgets
  • Ensures all budget targets are met
  • Oversees and approves procurement activities of the site
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 5+ years
  • Supervisor/Management Experience: 2+ years

  • Bachelor's Degree
