Job Description

Nel Hydrogen is seeking a dynamic and experienced Industrial Product Sales Manager to join our Sales team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing a regional sales territory (Europe) to drive sales and achieve revenue targets. The successful candidate will have industry experience in selling packaged equipment that serves the industrial markets related to hydrogen and other high purity gases, chemical processing, semiconductor applications, or related fields and managing product sales partners and agents.

This role can be located at our Wallingford office or fully remote, candidate must be located in the Central / Eastern Time Zone.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor distribution partners’ performance and develop strategies to improve sales and revenue.
  • Identify, onboard, and nurture relationships with new sales partners.
  • Travel to provide ongoing support and training to regional partners to ensure their success. Travel >30% on regular basis.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and address any opportunities faced by partners.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on regional partner performance and sales metrics.
  • Participate in joint marketing and selling events in the regions managed by partners.

Key Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • 5 - 10 years sales experience with proven track record of managing and supporting a network of dealers or distributors, preferably in the engineered packaged equipment for industrial sector.
  • Engineering degree preferred, but will consider other technical degrees based on own work history
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating a distributor-based sales team, including setting goals, providing coaching, and performance assessments.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing sales strategies and business plans based on identified regional needs.
  • Experience in monitoring sales performance, analyzing data, and implementing improvement plans.
  • Demonstrated expertise in analyzing market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
  • Expertise in designing and delivering training programs for dealers and agents.
  • Experience in managing campaigns related to sales initiatives, product launches, or dealer network expansion.
  • Track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Background in Engineering or Business Management is strongly preferred.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of distributed sales partner strategies and implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to attract, build, and maintain strong relationships with partners and customers.
  • Analytical skills to assess partner performance, identify areas for improvement, and market trends.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce) and other sales tools.

  • Ability to prioritize daily work activities and work autonomously
  • Strong desire to learn about Nel Hydrogen’s Industrial products and represent Nel within the industry

  • Professional approach to selling, understanding key client drivers and demonstrating Nel’s values to our partners and end customers
