We are now looking for an Environmental Specialist to join our team. You’ll provide critical expertise to ensure that environmental and social risks are effectively managed across our renewable energy projects. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, you will integrate international best practices into local regulatory frameworks, ensuring projects are both compliant and sustainable.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental and social impact assessments (ESIA) and risk analyses for projects at different stages (from development to construction) to ensure adherence to local and international standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to fill gaps in environmental data, coordinating with specialists and stakeholders.
  • Engage with international financial institutions, regulators, and local authorities to align projects with financing, permitting, and environmental standards.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of Environmental and Social Action Plans (ESAP) and grievance mechanisms to foster transparent communication with stakeholders.
  • Ensure ongoing environmental and social performance monitoring during construction, providing regular reports and actionable recommendations.

Your Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record in environmental and social risk management within renewable energy projects. You must be passionate about sustainability, with a deep understanding of international environmental standards and local regulations.

Must Have

  • Bachelor's and Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainable Development, or related fields.
  • In-depth knowledge of environmental and social risk frameworks such as the IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, and World Bank Guidelines.
  • Experience managing the full ESIA process, from scoping and survey design to reporting and compliance monitoring.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead multi-stakeholder consultation processes.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including biodiversity and social impact specialists.
