Job Description

Our goal is to make clean power accessible, to accelerate the shift to zero carbon power and transport.

We’re building and operating the world’s most sophisticated battery systems to enable the uptake of more renewable power and accelerating fleet electrification, de-risking the transition to zero-emission transport at scale. We’ve been consistently innovative since we were founded in 2017, achieving major industry firsts and using proprietary software and data analysis to optimise operational performance for our customers. At the end of their life, we repurpose electric vehicle batteries to provide clean power at depots, on construction sites and film sets.

Today we have 730 MW of grid scale battery storage operational and under construction and are the largest owner and operator of EV buses in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, supporting over 1,000 electric vehicles worldwide. In our first five years we have raised nearly £1.8 billion in funding and have expanded into other markets such as the US. Our rapidly growing company is looking for highly talented and motivated people to join us.

The Opportunity

Due to continued success and our expansion plans within the US, we are looking to hire for a HR & Recruitment Manager to support the ongoing growth within the region. This is a critical role reporting into the Director of People & Talent based in the UK. You will work closely with key stakeholders on the ground and provide day to day business support from a People & Talent function, ensuring we are embedding the company values and building the company culture to ensure Zenobe are a great place to work. This is a hybrid position focussing on local direct hire recruitment (partnering with one of the UK based Talent team), along with generalist HR responsibilities as we continue to scale.

A Bit About The Day To Day

  • Partner with local Hiring Managers to support on the end-to-end recruitment process inclusive of understanding vacancies and the importance to the business, creating Job descriptions collaboratively with stakeholders, advising on recruitment strategies and managing the end to end process inclusive of Offer negotiations and contracts.
  • Managing and optimizing the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding
  • Lead Direct hiring through Linked In, Networking and promoting our ‘refer a friend’ scheme
  • Work collaboratively with the HR and Talent teams in Head office (London) to implement policies and procedures from a global to local scale
  • Partner with Key Stakeholders to provide accurate and professional advice regarding to all Human Resources matters when required – this may vary from coaching and performance management, to conflict resolution!
  • Work closely with the business to understand and address any issues that may support in building the team and capabilities
  • Lead core people programs locally to ensure we are making Zenobe a great place to work, and continuously improving the culture, working cross functionally with other international offices
  • Lead Performance Management initiatives and processes
  • Work effectively with local Recruitment Agencies to support on more niche or perhaps urgent hires
  • Participate and lead HR projects locally to support the execution of the global HR strategy.
  • Supporting local L&D initiatives and training programs to ensure we are upskilling our team
  • Ensuring HR compliance, HRIS data accuracy, and maintaining essential documentation
  • Leading and supporting on global projects as directed by Head office.

Your Experience

  • 5+ Years of relevant working experience within HR locally – ideally within a standalone role or small team. It is preferable you have worked for a business at start up/ scale up stage.
  • Degree educated or specific certification within HR
  • Comfortable taking ownership and accountability of leading a HR function locally reporting into global head office
  • Experience in implementation of HR Policies and procedures and driving these within a business
  • Experience of leading recruitment at a fast pace and delivering solutions – ie temp to perm, contract hire
  • Up to date with local labour legislations and regulations
  • Experience with employee relations, conflict resolution and management business partnering
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
  • Experience in directly supporting people managers
  • Proven track record in direct hire within a business
  • Recruitment background preferred
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and ability to utilise HR data to make informed decisions
