Job Description

As our Production Manager, you will report to the Branch Manager and will be responsible for organizing and leading the branch installation teams. Working closely with the Branch Coordinator, Branch Manager and Installation Teams, you’ll ensure that all projects are installed according to company standards.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate installations of photovoltaic (PV) solar systems
  • Adhere to contract specifications and established policies and procedures
  • Manage, motivate, and mentor a installation and administrative staff involved in the installation of solar projects
  • Follow established safety procedures for each installation
  • Be accountable for key performance metrics for installation teams
  • Evaluate and manage resources and processes required for the successful completion of a high volume of residential and small commercial solar projects
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, customer service, and Productivity throughout the installation process
  • Ensure that every member of the installation team receives the proper safety training and equipment for their position, and follows Standard Operating Procedures for safety
  • Ensure that “Best Practices” are being applied throughout the install operation
  • Remotely assess proposed solar installation sites for feasibility and design requirements
  • Remotely monitor work of subcontractors for conformance to specifications, schedules, and budgets
  • Provide technical assistance to installers, technicians, and other solar
  • Estimate materials, equipment, and personnel needed for residential or commercial solar installation projects
  • Identify ways to reduce costs, minimize risks, and increase efficiency
  • Be accountable for the quality of work produced by installation teams
  • Work closely with the Branch Manager and the Branch Coordinator to provide accurate installation forecasts and branch performance reporting
  • Deliver an excellent customer experience and escalate customer concerns as necessary
  • Assist in managing warehouse facilities as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications

  • Solar industry experience
  • 3+ years’ supervisory experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience using computers and Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Comfortable working on projects that require deadlines
  • Organized and capable of making decisions without constant supervision
  • Ability to read and interpret job orders, measurements, and understand specifications
  • Knowledgeable about materials and processes that relate to the company’s business
  • Must have a valid driving license and a clean driving record
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
