The Role
This is an opportunity for an experienced and client-focused Principal Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join the team at our Madrid office. This key role will work alongside directors and partners, ensuring the successful delivery whilst working with clients, architects and other stakeholders for some of the most exciting building projects in Spain and Worldwide - you will work closely with colleagues of various disciplines from pre-bid through to design phases to completion and post-handover.
You will develop new and nurture existing outstanding client relationships that maximise satisfaction and ensure repeat business and will use your wealth of expertise and leadership skills to manage, motivate and inspire less experienced engineers.
The Skills
Educated to degree level in Mechanical / Building Services Engineering, and with a minimum of 6 years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role within a building services context (HVAC, Public Health, Fire Protection, BMS, etc), you have an extensive portfolio of experience demonstrating your familiarity with high quality engineering solutions and a client-focussed approach. You will also have experience in delivering Spanish projects and will value the experience in international project. The suitable candidate should have proven site experience.
In your most recent position, you have consistently demonstrated your ability to manage multiple projects and less experienced engineers to exceed client expectations. Ideally, you will possess sound knowledge of Revit and have proven experience for creative, sustainable, and intuitive design.
Given the collaborative and client focused nature of this role, excellent communication and time management skills are essential. As Cundall operates globally, excellent level of English both written and spoken will be desirable.
There is the opportunity to grow within this role both technically and managerially. You will assist with fee proposals and business development. You will be supported by mechanical and electrical engineers as the design progresses and enjoy developing solutions in collaboration with other members of the professional team in a consultive role.
You will be supported in this role with engineers providing design services and be working alongside directors/partners who will actively also support you as we expand our team in Spain.
