This is a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience and optimizing our brand new E-methanol plant, Kassø on a one year assignment and then subsequently transfer to HQ in Søborg in order to bring learnings to design of our next generations plants.
About the Power-to-X Department
Our PtX team is a dynamic and rapidly expanding group of over 80 dedicated professionals. We cover all aspects from project development, engineering, procurement, construction, and operation & maintenance of our PtX projects.
Why this role matters
The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting optimization and continuous improvement initiatives across the PtX production facility.
The role involves analysing operational data, identifying opportunities for increased energy efficiency, and contributing to process enhancements related to safety, performance, and product quality. The Process Engineer works collaboratively with operations, maintenance, and technical teams to ensure that improvements are practical, sustainable, and aligned with plant objectives, and is supported from and an integral part of the Process Technology Team at HQ.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze key process parameters and production trends to identify areas for performance or reliability improvement including metering verification.
- Support the implementation of process optimizations, including adjustment of operating conditions, procedural updates, and technical modifications.
- Participate in troubleshooting and root cause investigations related to process deviations, quality issues, or equipment performance.
- Quality - take the lead in the homologation process to reduce the number of external lab analysis in collaboration with SGS
- Contribute to the ongoing development and standardization of operating procedures (SOP) and best practices.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and control system teams to ensure changes are implemented safely and effectively.
- Assist in the evaluation and commissioning of new equipment, process upgrades, and improvement projects.
- Participate in and support safety, environmental, and sustainability initiatives, including compliance with relevant standards such as ISCC-EU.
- Document and report improvement activities, learnings, and outcomes to relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement through knowledge sharing and structured problem-solving approaches.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s or master's degree in chemical engineering, Process Engineering, Energy Technology, or a related technical field.
- 5 years of relevant experience within process design and optimization.
- Relevant experience in process operations or commissioning.
- Prior involvement in process improvement initiatives, even in non-PtX contexts.
- General knowledge of process plant operations from PtX, chemical or other relevant industries.
- Understanding of process control principles and equipment operation.
- Ability to interpret process data and assist in performance analysis using common tools (e.g., Excel, trend monitoring systems).
- Experience with process simulation software.
- You communicate in English and Danish on a professional level.
