Job Description

Do you want to act as a key site support function to assist site management in achieving key KPIs related to the safe, efficient and optimized execution of O&M for an offshore wind farm in Taiwan?

Job content, responsibilities, and possibilities

Based in Changhua in our 24/7 Operations Control Centre (OCC) in the O&M Base, you will act as Operations Control Engineer for O&M, in one of Taiwan's largest offshore wind farms. Reporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you will be an essential part of our Operations team, responsible for daily monitoring and control of the Windfarm.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Monitor the SCADA systems, respond to alarms and situations as necessary including remote operations and resets
  • Control and monitor the high voltage electrical systems on and offshore
  • Manage the release of plant and/or apparatus for work, testing, energization, and operation following safety rules
  • Ensure the HV system is operated to comply with the grid code, Electrical Safety Rules and procedures
  • Coordinate the implemented Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) and High Voltage (HV) grid control.
  • Conduct operational and safety switching duties, consent for the issue of safety documents and coordinate/create switching schedules
  • Liaise with the National Grid Control Engineers and the issue of safety/operational documentation following the grid code.
  • Coordinate/operate and support the PtW system including activation and deactivation of work.
  • Enables safe transit and access to the assets to perform Operations and Maintenance. The Operation Control Centre (OCC) is also support to Marine Coordinator for executing vessel, helicopter movements outlined in the plans and schedules for vessel tracking, and people tracking.

Operations Control Engineer with a Proactive Attitude

We are looking for an Operations Control Engineer with a technical, engineering, and/or operations background with at least 2 years of experience, preferably within the power generating industry. This experience has given you the ability to operate SCADA and electrical systems, the understanding of operational processes, the ability to work across multiple systems simultaneously and focus under critical situations. You also have ample experience working in health and safety-critical environments and ensuring the establishment of HSE culture throughout the transition and operational start-up phase and are willing to work in a 24/7 OCC environment in a shift-based rotation. You are competent when dealing with quality standards, best practice procedures, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements.
