ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Planner, Wind to join our Wind & Solar team on a Full-Time basis. In this role, you’ll report to the Manager, East Canadian Wind Operations and play a key part in supporting the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of wind energy assets. This position is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance and operational activities across wind farms to optimize performance and minimize downtime. The Wind Planner works closely with field technicians, asset managers, and external contractors to ensure all work is executed in alignment with safety, regulatory, and operational standards.

This position is based out of our Melancthon Wind Operations site (Orangeville, Ontario).

This is a full-time salaried position and is also considered a safety sensitive role. The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment testing.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Develop and maintain short- and long-term maintenance schedules for wind turbines, substations and associated infrastructure.
  • Coordinate planned outages and maintenance activities with site execution teams to minimize impact on energy production.
  • Collaborate with operations and asset management teams to prioritize corrective and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure all work orders are accurately created, scheduled, and closed in the CMMS (e.g., SAP, S4/Hana).
  • Liaise with OEMs, contractors, and internal stakeholders to align on work scope priorities and timelines.
  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies.
  • Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

ABOUT YOU

  • Preference for power generation experience of 5 years or more, or related experience
  • Appropriate certification in a related discipline (maintenance and operations, work management, planning/scheduling), with years of progressive experience
  • Strong mindset around safety and compliance
  • Understanding of the operational aspects of the plant, including technical, compliance, and financial aspects
  • Background or ethos focused on continuous improvement
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision while consistently taking initiative
  • Comprehensive understanding of maintenance concepts and principles within one's own discipline, along with knowledge of others
  • Strong collaboration and engagement skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Preference for bilingual English/French, written and verbal
  • Demonstrated capability to drive continuous improvement.
