Job Description
Matrix Renewables is a renewable energy platform that was founded by global alternative asset manager TPG through its impact investing platform, TPG Rise, in 2020. Headquartered in Madrid, Matrix Renewables focuses on developing, constructing and being long-term owners of renewable energy assets.

The Role
At Matrix Renewables we are looking for a highly motivated Finance Associate to play a key role in our financing team.
Based out of Matrix’s Miami office, you will focus on new business and growth opportunities in Matrix’s core markets in US; where you will participate in all aspects of the business, ranging from creating financial models for new opportunities, assisting in project and structured finance transactions, and supporting other teams in due diligence and negotiation.
Your activities may also include managing the data rooms and data bases, conducting research and due diligence, analyzing potential financings, aiding in the procurement process for advisors, organizing documentation, preparing presentations and reports, and helping coordinate activities with other cross functional groups internally.
This will provide you with a holistic view of the Renewables Private Equity business with industry-leading professionals, your core responsibilities will include:
- Develop, manage and build valuation models analysing the economic merits and risks associated with renewable energy projects / storage
- Collaborate and coordinate with key internal stakeholders i.e. company engineers, developers, accounting and financing professionals to develop appropriate assumptions for project models
- Support due diligence processes for project finance, corporate finance
- Support and model project financing structures, perform debt sizing and analyze alternative approaches
- Support closings for construction financings, term conversions or any refinancing initiatives
- Assist in procuring additional financial instruments (hedges, swaps, derivatives, guarantees)
- Support the loan management team in the monitoring of the performance of existing projects including, periodic update of financial models.
- Help the team in preparing investment packages or materials for presentation to the Investment Committee
Experience, Knowledge & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Previous 2 – 4 years’ experience in banking, private equity, or the energy/utilities sector, and/or MBA or related master’s degree candidate plus 1 – 2 years working experience
- Financial modelling skills
- Expert in office programs: Excel, PowerPoint and Word, PowerBI knowledge is a plus
- Fluent in English and Spanish
