Job Description

Role Scope

Reporting to the Head of Engineering and Construction for the renewable business (principally focused on Solar Projects, Utility Scale and C&I), and through the coordination of a Project Teams, is accountable of the project’s results in terms of achievement of the Budget Margin/EBIT (Revenues and Cost), Time, Quality and Compliance (including Code of Conduct and Ethics, Health and Safety, Environment and Sustainability).

Main Responsibilities

Project Coordination

  • define and coordinate the resources of the team (internal and external), through periodical meetings,
  • support Sales Unit in the definition of the Contractual Condition with the Clients, to anticipate and manage since the beginning any possible risk on projects,
  • ensure an efficient Hand Over process before the Execution Phase and with O&M (and to the Client) at the conclusion of the construction activities, elaborating and updating the relevant documents during the project execution,
  • support procurement in the definition of the specific project’s procurement strategy, and elaborate the procurement plan of the project,
  • manage of the EPC/BOP Contract with the Client and facilitate an efficient relationship with subcontractors,
  • ensure the right execution of the plants, respecting local normative, permits and prescriptions, ensuring customer satisfaction,
  • ensure the correct Safety and Environmental management with the support of the HSS manager, and accordingly local normative,
  • stakeholder (internal and external) management with the support of the other Team Members,
  • ensure profits and marginality on projects as budget, and coordinate the team to improve and optimize the economical result of the projects,
  • organization of periodical project’s meetings (internal, with contractors and with Clients), and implementation of the periodical internal reports for the Team, Management and Clients.

Project Controlling

  • definition of the correct project’s WBS (Work Breakdown Structure) and CBS (Cost Breakdown Structure) of the project, analyzing constantly project’s Cost, Revenues and Cash Flow,
  • verify, together with Engineering, since the Technical/Economical Offer the Project, the cost for the full execution of the Project,
  • definition and updating of the Project’s Schedule during the project’s execution,
  • monitoring of the physical progress of the project, promptly highlighting the deviations from the Baseline and implementing corrective actions,
  • monitoring of project Cost and Revenues, promptly highlighting deviations from the Budget and analyzing possible actions to be implemented to realign the Forecast to the assigned objectives,
  • periodic verification of cash-flows, based on project progress and contractual milestone planning, ensuring possibly a continue positive Cash Flow for the project.
  • Invoicing and Payment Execution (additionally to Plan and Forecast),
  • responsible for planning all risk management activities, conducting risk assessments and following up status on mitigation measures, managing and maintaining the risk register and risk reporting.

Quality Assurance

  • ensure the right implementation of the internal procedures, during the execution phase,
  • establish and maintain updated the Project Quality Plan,
  • verify and facilitate internal (project team) and external (contractor) people the right document management of the projects, using the defined DMS system,
  • support the activities for the Factory Inspection, and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), together with Engineering and the Site Inspection and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) with the Construction/Site Managers, verifying that the right Quality Control Plans have been defined and implemented,
  • report and maintain a register of the non-conformities/defects (deviations from a specification, a standard, or an expectation) and quality improvements,
  • final analysis of the project’s results and definition of the Lesson Learnt to be facilitated within the Country,
  • ensure that all the relevant documents for Project Execution and O&M activities have been produced and shared.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree level qualification in Engineering (electrical, industrial, mechanical or equivalent).
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in managing the execution phase of Renewable Energy Projects.
  • Qualifications: Project Management Professional qualification will be an advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of renewable and solar energy regulations and safety standards. Excellent application of Excell, Word, PowerPoint and MSProject.
  • Soft Skills: Leadership and team management, self-starter, problem solving and decision making, target oriented, excellent communication skills and negotiation ability.
  • Languages: Fluency in English (written and verbal), other language will be an advantage.
