Position Summary

We are seeking a seasoned, experienced and versatile Security Supervisor capable of leading the strategy, policies, process and functional management of all aspects of site security management for the Jeffersonville manufacturing site and accompanying professional offices and buildings.

The selected candidate should have a wide array of experience designing and implementing all security procedures for a mid-sized or large manufacturing site, ideally with experience in both the development of safeguards to prevent security violations as well as a background in problem resolution in instances where violations or threats to site security are either looming or have occurred. In addition, the right candidate should have experience with development and management of routine daily security processes for a corporate manufacturing site.

Primary Responsibilities

Strategic Security Responsibilities and Processes

  • Develop, implement and/or upgrade (if deemed necessary) site digital card access for all site employees, contractors and visitors
  • Devise additional safeguards for the most secure and/or potentially vulnerable portions of the site, including perimeter fencing, entrance gates and/or storage lockers, technology hardware and infrastructure and equipment inventories
  • Plan and ensure contingency plans are in place for threats or violations of site security, such as unexpected power failures, fires, chemical spills and/or natural disasters and/or access breaches by unauthorized visitors. Contingency plans should include escalation procedures for resolving security problems with senior management as well as (when necessary) community law enforcement personnel
  • Conduct regular security audits to help identify weaknesses in security measures and make necessary improvements.

Security Policy and Training

  • Develop an overall blueprint with SOPs covering all aspects of site security both for the manufacturing site, especially the production area, as well as offices, cubicles, reception areas and perimeter access points
  • Work closely with EHS Manager, EMS site coordinator and site EHS occupational, health and safety and/or environmental engineers to develop associated procedures for all aspects of security
  • Draft and develop approved guidelines for observance by all site contractors and/or consultants visiting or working regularly at the site, as well as providing safety notices to any and all site visitors.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Robust leadership and supervision skills, adapt at inspiring and efficiently managing the security team.
  • Train and mentor security staff on best practices for carrying out their jobs and serving as security missionaries for all employees, contractors and visitors to the site.
  • Train and notify all employees on best security practices including the avoiding of tailgating in using access cards and ensuring all access doors are closed except when necessary.
  • Conduct seminars as needed for both staff as well as contractors and consultants and/or vendors on site security compliance requirements and standards
  • Develop and mentor direct reports to be able to lead key security functions, when necessary, particularly at times when the site security supervisor is not on site.
  • Liaise with local law enforcement, emergency services, and relevant stakeholders during security emergencies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with EHS, Production, Quality Assurance and Supply Chain departments to develop a close understanding of all site processes and functions to develop appropriate security procedures and guidelines.
  • Meet occasionally and as needed with department heads and/or senior management as needed to review security policies, guidelines, procedures and training plans and rollouts.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 8-10 years of overall security experience with a resume demonstrating both solid tenure and steady growth in responsibility over time.
  • Prior experience of 2 to 3 years as a manufacturing site lead or at least 2 years of functional site security supervision background for key aspects of site security.
  • Past direct supervisory experience of one or more direct reports involved in the security function.
  • Knowledge of execution of security procedures for site visitors, especially contractors, consultants and/or outside regulatory authorities visiting the site.
  • Participation in prior site security internal and/or external audits are desirable.
  • Proficient in utilizing various computer software, including MS Office, security management platforms, and incident reporting tools.
  • Training with OSHA requirements and/or specialized site security training is desirable.
  • Familiarity with ISO compliance related to security desirable.
  • High school diploma required and bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field is preferred.
