Job Description

We are seeking a driven and curious Occupational EHS Intern to join our Environmental, Health & Safety team. This is a hands-on, impact-heavy internship designed for someone who wants to build real programs-not just observe them. You'll split your time between field work (50%) and program development/writing (50%), supporting manufacturing, R&D, and Facilities teams across our Woodland and Davis locations.

If you're passionate about safety, enjoy solving problems, and want experience that translates directly into an EHS career, this is the internship where you'll build the skills that matter.

What You Could Work On (This list may change based on project completion and needs at time of hire)

Major Projects

You will lead and support several high-value EHS initiatives, including:

  • Safety Program Development
    • Build the Safety Manual for any one of our onsite products used in a construction setting, working with production, engineering, and maintenance teams.
    • Develop in-depth written EHS programs, including Lockout/Tagout, Hazard Communication, Machine Guarding, and other core safety elements.
    • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Program
    • Create LOTO procedures for all equipment across multiple sites.
    • Perform field verification, equipment identification, and hands-on data collection.
  • Industrial Hygiene Program
    • Develop Industrial Hygiene sampling criteria, strategy, and documentation.
    • Support noise, air, and chemical exposure assessments.
    • Ergonomics Program
    • Build and implement a full Ergonomics program, including analysis tools, assessment templates, and corrective action planning.
  • Health & Wellness Program Foundations
    • Support development of health-related policies and initiatives, contributing to the health side of EHS (wellbeing, fitness for duty, etc.).

Daily Responsibilities

  • Conduct field safety walkthroughs and collect on-the-floor data.
  • Assist with incident reviews and corrective actions.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings with Production, R&D, Facilities, and leadership.
  • Maintain documentation and EHS metrics through Microsoft Office and Navarro platforms.
  • Help drive a culture of safety engagement and continuous improvement.

Who You'll Work With

  • This internship partners closely with:
    • Production and Operations teams
    • R&D teams
    • Facilities & Maintenance
    • EHS Leadership
    • Occasional interaction with Corporate Leadership

You'll be supported by the Corporate EHS manager while also being trusted to lead your own project work.

Why This Company

We're committed to building a world-class safety culture-not because we have to, but because it's the right thing to do. Here, you won't just sit in on meetings. You'll lead meaningful work, shape real programs, and leave with portfolio-ready projects that make a visible impact on our employees, our operations, and our future.

You'll gain:

  • Real ownership of major EHS programs
  • Mentorship from an experienced EHS professional
  • Exposure to production, engineering, and leadership teams
  • A supportive environment where your ideas matter
  • Experience in not only the creation but implementation of projects which includes cross level influence and buy in sessions.
  • Experience that directly translates into full-time EHS roles
  • If you're ready to make a difference, grow your skills, and see the full spectrum of what EHS truly is, this is the place for you.
