The Opportunity

• Supervise/prepare proposals/submissions and negotiate contracts within the MEP Team's framework for such activity.
• Ensure consistent completion of the Mechanical Services projects across the Team within quality, budget and programme expectations; develop and administer project monitoring and control mechanisms within the MEP Team.
• Facilitate and co-ordinate design activities, processes and other technical standards within the MEP Team (including the review and monitoring of technical standards in the Team to ensure that design techniques, reference material and software tools are up-to-date and are correctly applied).
• Undertake technical reviews of MEP projects (and MEP Team input provided to other projects) at appropriate stages to ensure that the project approach and deliverables:
  • are commensurate with Arup quality objectives
  • satisfy the client's brief and expectations
  • maximize features that will reduce construction cost and/or provide other significant benefits to the client minimize Arup's delivery costs
  • maximize ongoing opportunities for Arup
• Lead the development of project plans and drive implementation which ensures delivery is managed effectively (commercially, technically, financially) and minimizes risk to both Arup and the client.

Is this role right for you?

• Minimum of 12-15 years' experience in the successful leadership and management of diverse teams for the design & construction of international airport projects OR projects of similar scale and complexity.
• You will be a Mechanical Professional Engineer (P.E) licensed by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) of Singapore or a Chartered/Registered engineer of a recognized engineer international institution equivalent to PEB in Singapore.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in engineering consultancy and design including experience in advising clients on innovative, cost-effective, sustainable solutions.
• Experience in bidding for large scale projects, pitching to clients and strong contract negotiation skills.
• A broad knowledge of building services design issues (including ESD, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Hydraulics), to be able to lead a team working in these fields.
