Job Description
We are a fusion power company based in Everett, WA, with the mission to build the world's first fusion power plant, enabling a future with unlimited clean electricity. Our vision is a world with clean, reliable, and affordable energy for everyone.
Since Helion's founding in 2013, we have raised over $1 billion from long-time investors such as Sam Altman, Mithril, and Capricorn Investment Group and new investors SoftBank and Lightspeed to propel us forward. Our last prototype, Trenta, completed 10,000 high-power pulses and reached plasma temperatures of 100 million degrees Celsius (9 keV). Now, we're turning up operations for Polaris, working towards delivering the world's first fusion power plant.
More than ever, it's a pivotal time to join us and have the opportunity to solve real challenges to create a better energy future. You will see first-hand how we value urgency, rigor, ownership, and hard truths, knowing it will take each to do what no one has before. Joining us, you will push the boundaries of what's possible and transform humanity for the better - because the world can't wait.
What You Will Be Doing
At Helion, we are building the world’s first fusion power plant to enable a future with unlimited clean electricity. As we scale our technology and operations, the efficient management of inventory across our supply chain and facilities is critical to our success. We are seeking a Director of Inventory & Materials Management to lead our growing inventory and warehouse operations and help establish world-class systems and practices that support rapid production and innovation.
You Will
- Develop and execute on a long-term roadmap for inventory control and logistics processes to enable high volume production
- Oversee the receipt, inspection, and safe storage of inbound shipments and materials.
- Lead, coordinate, and mentor cross-functional warehouse and inventory teams to maximize efficiency and accountability.
- Partner with Facilities and Production organizations on the selection, design, and development of new warehouses
- Collaborate with Production Engineering on new factory design and processes that enable low waste, efficient, just-in-time material delivery
- Monitor and optimize supply chain and warehouse processes to support production and R&D demands.
- Ensure accuracy and visibility of inventory through data-driven tracking, reporting, and reconciliation.
- Design and manage inventory audits and cycle counts, resolving discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Production, and Facilities teams to forecast inventory needs and maintain optimal stock levels.
- Take extreme ownership of the development and scaling of Warehouse Management and Logistics enterprise software to enable rapid company growth
About You
- Proven leadership experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or supply chain logistics, preferably in a manufacturing or high-tech environment.
- Strong understanding of modern inventory control systems (e.g., WMS, ERP) and experience implementing new enterprise software, or improving existing software
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage high-performing teams in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to balance strategic planning with on-the-ground execution.
