Senior Internal Audit Manager (m/w/d)

Job Description

As a Senior Internal Audit Manager (m/w/d), the role is focused on supporting the internal audit function across the organization ideally from our office in Munich. With a strong emphasis on risk-based auditing and compliance, this position plays a critical part in safeguarding operational integrity. Positioned at the intersection of strategy and governance, it offers a broad scope of responsibility within a dynamic, international environment.

What you will do

• You will support the creation and maintenance of audit guidelines and the audit manual
• You will support the ongoing risk assessment process
• You will assist in drafting the annual risk-based audit plan
• You will define the scope of work for audit engagements in consultation with the Director Corporate Audit
• You will gather and assess information required to prepare audit engagements
• You will conduct audit assurance and consulting engagements, taking the lead when working with junior audit staff
• You will plan and facilitate kick-off meetings, status updates, and exit meetings with auditees
• You will prepare comprehensive audit reports
• You will monitor the implementation of action plans as part of the follow-up process for audited units
• You will support the audit quality assurance and improvement program
• Consider business objectives of the corporation during audit engagements

What you’ll need to succeed

• Degree in economics, business administration, or law, or a related field
• Professional experience in internal audit
• Experience in analyzing business processes
• Preferably experience in project management or in reviewing projects
• Analytical and structured thinking
• Team-focused and cooperative with strong communication skills, confidence and initiative
• Intercultural competence
• Business fluent German and English
• Willingness to travel 30-50%
