We’re looking for someone who wants to build their career as a Traveling Surveyor.

As a member of our operations team, you'll complete Solar Surveys to prepare customers and our design team for residential solar installations.

Job Duties

  • Manage a volume of Solar Surveys in an assigned geography.
  • Travel to project sites to gather basic structural and electrical information by conducting a physical site audit using job-specific tools such as a tablet (or phone) with apps, measuring devices, and other related equipment.
  • Create a detailed rooftop map layout for solar installation and identify issues that can affect the installation.
  • Be professional, punctual and provide quality customer service.
  • Upload site audit documents to coordinate with the design/engineering department to produce permit-ready documents.
  • Ensure a smooth handoff between departments.

Desired Qualifications

  • Comfortable working at heights (roofs, attics) and inspecting electrical panels.
  • Can use ladders, basic measuring devices, and job-related tech (iPad, etc)
  • Accountable person who takes initiative and can work with minimal or no supervision.
  • Reliability. (Arrive on time and do your best work)
  • Ability to read and understand contract documents and plans.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record to operate a company vehicle.
  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Interest in sustainable energy is a plus!

Physical Demands and Abilities

  • Make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls
  • Stand, walk, or run for long periods of time
  • Climb ladders, scaffolds, or poles
  • Repeatedly kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, stretch, twist, crawl, or reach out
  • See details of objects that are less than a few feet away
  • See differences between colors, shades, and brightness
  • Determine the distance between objects
  • While looking forward, see objects or movements that are off to the side
  • Hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm
  • Move two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in place
  • Use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods of time
  • Keep or regain the body's balance or stay upright when in an unstable position
  • React quickly using hands, fingers, or feet
  • Understand the speech of another person
  • Use muscles to lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects
  • Lift 50+ pounds
