Senior Specialist - Bionic Busbar

Are you looking for a next challenge where you will put your technical expertise within innovative, additive manufactured designs into play?

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineering expert to guide and execute the product launch of our new and innovative product as a part of our Product & Engineering Solutions (P&ES) business unit.

Purpose of the position:

Additive manufacturing offers the opportunity to pursue completely new manufacturing and design approaches. Combined with product optimisations that are characterised by bionic solutions, KK is now introducing the technology (bionic busbar) into the field of high-current conductors in a number of industrial applications for example switchgear combinations, converters for wind turbines or PtX, as well as new markets which can benefit from improving efficiency while reducing costs. Your task will be to transfer the technology into a series product and to adapt to dedicated customer applications together with product management and sales organisation. You have the freedom for architectural guidance of the further development during the entire product life cycle: specification, design setup, implementation, verification & validation, preparation for serial manufacturing and handover to the production team.

Responsibilities

• Architectural mechanical system concept definition considering the electrical requirements of high current conductors.
• Mechanical 3-D design and topology optimization. Specify FEM simulations on innovative busbar concepts.
• Define together with product management the modular product family. Support the product introduction into new markets
• Set new impulses and directions together with the entire P&ES team
• Maintain valuable interactions & dialogs to customers and suppliers
• Drive and optimize test and verification setup and prototype build
• Support the project management in resource planning, competency selection and project execution
• Efficient use of design supporting tools, e.g., requirement management system, D-FMEA, risk assessment, trade studies
• Consider the project performing indicators: time, scope, budget, product cost and quality.
• Start to develop an international engineering team in line with the growing business needs
• Keep your high technical know-how level through cross functional trainings by using adequate channels, e.g., online trainings, fairs and conferences
• Actively drive the matrix interaction to KK value chain organizations like: Manufacturing, Sourcing, Global Engineering, Business Units

Our requirements

• Education background on Mechanical Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering, Master or comparable degree
• Minimum 3 years design engineer experience in an innovative, collaborative and global working environment
• Willingness to become the System Manager for bionic busbars and take technical leadership of the area as it grows into the market
• Ability to take occasional international travel to customers and suppliers
