Job Description
Arcosa Wind Towers, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of structural wind towers in North America. We focus on excellence, offering premier value to our customers.
Arcosa Wind Towers is now hiring a Control Press Operator. As a Control Process Operator, you’ll set up and operate machines, and may use blueprints, adjust for materials used, verify dimensional requirements, and transfer materials to storage areas. You’ll work with unconventional materials that require specialized skills.
Job Location: Newton, IA
What you’ll do
- Maintain attendance within acceptable standards
- Operate Plate Roll or other specialty equipment
- Machine welds
- Set up and operate machines to cut, bend, straighten, and form using free-form techniques to meet product specifications
- Work with unconventional types of materials
- Verify dimensional requirements
- Unload and may transfer materials to storage areas using overhead cranes or forklift
- Perform Torch cutting
- Operate one piece of CNC (Oxy-fuel or Plasma cutting)
- Make adjustments that adhere to established specifications (i.e., head height, concentricity, etc.)
- Troubleshoot and correct faulty programming
- Train of new or existing team members
- Assure safety of all team members
- Assist in completion of all tasks to meet deadlines
- Maintain and improve quality
What you’ll need
- Experience: Up to 1 Year
- Certifications: Mobile Equipment
- Technical Skills: Understand basic measuring techniques, basic computer skills and ability to read blueprints
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Read, write and speak proficiently in English

Working Conditions
- Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds.
- This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
- Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant

- Be aware of and observe all safety practices. Including but not limited to- Safety glasses, safety boots, hearing protection, etc… as required
- Know and follow all safety rules and procedures.
- Participate in safety committees and initiatives as assigned.
