Job Description

As Logistics Team Leader you will provide an efficient, effective and customer orientated logistics service to the business. You will process material requests by liaising with internal customers and external suppliers and assist in the effective control and delivery of logistics inventory. You will lead a team of 8-10 employees across 4 Locations (Prenton, Warrington, Liverpool and Middlewich)
What you’ll be doing

- Ensure that all lifting and manoeuvring of product is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures
- Lead and motivate a team of 8-10 employees across 4 Locations (Prenton, Warrington, Liverpool and Middlewich)
- Oversee all Stores operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfilment, and shipping.
- Develop and implement efficient and effective Stores processes to optimise space utilization and minimise errors.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and reconciliation activities.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage and prioritise order fulfilment based on customer requirements
- Plan and coordinate transportation activities, including route planning, scheduling, and carrier selection
- Monitor and optimize transportation costs while maintaining high service levels
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
- Address any issues or delays in customer requirement fulfilment and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide training to enhance team skills
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, that encourages team member growth
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Implement best practices in Stores management and customer experience
- Analyse data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive improvements.
- Input data regarding stock and inventory into the SAP ERP system (Training Provided)
- Lead weekly stock counts locally and across the network as and when required
- Operate in a safe manner complying with all health, safety, and environmental requirements to ensure own and safety of others
- Ensure the safe handling of any hazardous materials.
- Ensure a clean and well-maintained fleet & Stores environment
- Lead change initiatives
What you’ll bring
- Proven experience in warehouse, stores and transportation management roles.
- Strong knowledge of logistics and operations
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (SAP) and transportation management systems (TMS).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance in warehouse and transportation.
- Excellent Customer Service and Communication Skills.
- Excellent Planning and Organisation Skills.
- Good Telephone Manner.
- Excellent Time Management skills.
- Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
- Flexible approach and ability to prioritise tasks.
- Developed skills using Microsoft Office Packages. (Word and excel)
- Familiarisation of SAP, Plant and Circuits, Business Objects. (Not critical)
- Valid Clean driving license
- Preferably Experience operating forklift trucks
- Proven Logistics/Stores management experience
