Power System Expert

Job Description

EGI wishes to reinforce its team working on Power System Operations and Security in the context of deep integration of renewable energy sources, Energy and Balancing Market Integration. To achieve this, we are looking for experienced professionals with expertise in the field of transmission system operation. These experts will take part in local and international projects focusing on RES integration, security of supply, sustainability and economic efficiency of Power Systems.

Typical activities involve (but are not limited to):

• Analysis and definition of operational principles;
• Model definition and validation;
• Steady-state (load flow, short circuit calculations etc);
• Dynamic stability analysis (frequency, voltage stability..);
• Grid Code requirement and connection compliance studies

Your responsibilities will be determined by your competencies and expertise and will be discussed during your interviews with managers.

Your profile

• Master's degree in Engineering or Applied Mathematics/Physics;
• 2-10 years of experience in Power System Operations and Security (balancing and RES system integration, system operation and state-of-the-art technological solutions);
• Knowledge of power system simulation tools (PowerFactory, PSSE);
• Expertise in translating complex data into key strategic insights and valuable actions;
• Fluent in English;
• Knowledge of German, Dutch and/or French is a strong asset.

Location

Brussels - Mobility required: 30% worldwide (willingness to travel abroad for international assignments, depending on the business development or project needs).
