Job Description

Ulteig is seeking a Program Manager to enable predictable, transparent delivery of Product strategy by translating priorities into executable portfolio plans. This role operates at the intersection of Product strategy, funding, capacity, and delivery, ensuring that enterprise initiatives are evaluated, sequenced, and governed to maximize outcomes and minimize risk.

The Program Manager owns portfolio intake mechanics, planning, and governance-providing leadership with the clarity and decision support needed to make informed investment and sequencing decisions. This role partners closely with Product Leadership, Delivery Lead Management, Finance, and executive stakeholders to maintain a healthy, well‑governed portfolio.

What You'll Do

This position requires strong systems thinking, analytical rigor, and executive-level facilitation skills. The Program Manager is accountable for how work enters the system, how it is sequenced across time and teams, and how decisions are made and tracked-not for direct delivery execution.

More specifically, this role includes:

Strategic Enablement & Intake - 30%

  • Own portfolio intake mechanics and governance from idea submission through approved initiative.
  • Establish and maintain a transparent demand funnel, ensuring initiatives are clearly framed, comparable, and decision‑ready.
  • Facilitate prioritization and intake forums by reconciling Product strategy, approved funding, and delivery capacity.
  • Ensure enterprise initiatives are sequenced realistically across teams and time, avoiding hidden overload or conflict.
  • Partner with Product leadership to translate strategy into actionable portfolio options.

Portfolio Planning & Capacity Management - 40%

  • Translate Product roadmaps into integrated portfolio delivery plans.
  • Own capacity modeling, scenario analysis, and portfolio tradeoff recommendations.
  • Surface delivery constraints, systemic risks, and sequencing options to Product leadership and executives.
  • Support leadership decision‑making by presenting clear options, implications, and tradeoffs-rather than single recommendations.
  • Continuously refine portfolio plans as strategies, funding, and execution realities evolve.

Governance & Decision Cadence - 30%

  • Maintain visibility into portfolio health, cross‑initiative dependencies, and systemic risks.
  • Ensure portfolio decisions are explicitly documented, tracked, and acted upon.
  • Define and own portfolio‑level delivery standards, templates, and ways of working.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent cadence for portfolio reviews and governance forums.
  • Ensure transparency and traceability from strategic intent through approved initiatives and execution.

What We Expect from You

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Technology, or a related discipline-or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in program management, portfolio management, strategy enablement, or complex initiative planning.
  • Proven experience operating at a portfolio or enterprise level across multiple initiatives and teams.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, including capacity modeling, scenario planning, and investment tradeoff analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate executive‑level prioritization and governance conversations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complexity into decision‑ready insights.
  • Strong business acumen and comfort working across Product, Delivery, and Finance functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project) and planning/portfolio tooling.
  • PMP, Agile, or related certifications are a plus.
  • Demonstrates openness to innovation by embracing and applying evolving technology and AI tools to enhance workflows, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.

What Success Looks Like

  • Portfolio intake is disciplined, transparent, and aligned to strategy.
  • Leadership has clear visibility into capacity, tradeoffs, and sequencing implications.
  • Enterprise initiatives are realistically planned and sequenced, reducing delivery churn.
  • Decisions are timely, documented, and executed with clarity.
  • Program Management is trusted as a strategic enabler-not an administrative checkpoint.
