Job Description

EDP Renewables is a global leader in the renewable energy sector and the fourth-largest wind energy producer. Mission

Execute market orders for several European electricity markets according to the provided guidelines. Communicate and follow up market results and strategies performance.

Main Accountabilities

  1. Daily execute market orders in European electricity markets (Day ahead market/intraday/ bilateral contracts notification) according to the defined guidelines.
  2. Communication with internal (e.g Dispatch, Asset Management) and external (e.g. market operators, TSO) parties regarding daily market operations and executions.
  3. Monitoring on the markets and strategies performed, reporting to the rest of the department and other internal/external stakeholders about market movements and prices evolution, interpreting financial and market reports.

Required Profile

  1. REQUIRED ACADEMIC SKILLS:
    • Undergraduate required. Preferred degrees in Engineering, Business, Physics or Math science.
  2. LANGUAGE SKILLS:
    • Experience working in English (i.e. written and oral English (bilingual)). Valued other languages.
    • Familiar with market jargon is valuable.
  3. PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
    • In one or more of the following areas: electricity/energy markets, renewable regulation, finance. Previous experience as a trader would be valued.
  4. OTHER SKILLS:
    • Domain of Microsoft Excel and other Office package.
    • VBA, Power BI and R, and SQL would be a plus.
    • Understanding of Microsoft products and/or complementing products (preferred)
    • Competency in Analytical Problem solving, strong communication, customer/partner relationships, and technology expertise (preferred)
  5. KNOWLEDGE:
    • Responsible, organized, analytical, problem solving.
  6. OTHER
    • This position implies a high level of responsibility.
    • Since the operations are done on a daily basis, the position implies working in shifts (daytime).
