Summary/Primary Role

The VP of Geothermal Innovation is responsible for leading Brightcore’s product development roadmap and innovation efforts, including building business cases for product initiatives. They support sales and operations with innovation efforts and collaborate with engineering and other departments in a matrix structure. With a background in mechanical engineering or a similar field, they have experience in software development, geothermal modeling, and geothermal drilling techniques.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead Brightcore’s product development roadmap and innovation initiatives.
  • Build business cases for product development initiatives.
  • Support sales and operations with innovative efforts.
  • Work directly with engineering and other business units in matrix reporting structure.
  • Experience working with/leading software development teams and developing software.
  • Experience presenting complex information to internal (engineering) and external (customers) stakeholders through dashboards/proposals/reports.
  • Experience with geothermal modeling and bore field design.
  • Knowledge of geothermal drilling techniques and equipment
  • Understanding of thermal energy networks.
  • Experience with building management systems (BMS) and controls, as well as third-party software interacting with BMS.
  • Understanding of sequencing of operations and fundamentals of controls of geothermal systems.
  • Experience developing/working with/using machine learning/AI algorithms to optimize mechanical systems or other.
  • Familiar with ArcGIS or other mapping tools.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field. MBA or equivalent is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate complex technical information into actionable strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Background in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Extensive experience in software development and working with engineering teams to deliver solutions.
  • Proven experience leading product development roadmaps and innovation initiatives.
  • Strong ability to build business cases for product development initiatives.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Expected Hours of Work

An Employee is expected to work a minimum of forty (40) hours per week. Non-exempt employees are eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws, while exempt employees may be required to work additional hours as necessary to fulfill their job responsibilities. Overtime requirements will be determined based on the operational needs of the organization. The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining an employee’s base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity).   • Travel required 15% in the Northeast.

Office/Remote Work Guidelines

Recognizing the success of remote work, Brightcore operates in a hybrid model. Eligible employees will have the option to work remotely for two (2) days per week at their discretion, with final approval by their direct supervisor. This policy is subject to change at Brightcore's discretion.
