Storage Optimization Engineer

As part of our growing Energy Storage team, we are now looking for a Storage Optimization Engineer to optimize our battery storage projects, both standalone and hybrid, for long-term value and performance.

About the role

You will work at the intersection of technology and commercial strategy, ensuring our storage projects are technically sound and financially optimized. This role involves close collaboration across OX2’s functions including Investments, Power Markets, Procurement, and Development.

Key responsibilities

• Optimize storage system design considering both technical and commercial aspects
• Support project sizing, augmentation strategies, and hybrid system design
• Identify and solve grid-related and market-driven design challenges
• Bridge technical design with market and revenue modelling
• Contribute to due diligence and investment analysis
• Develop tools and documentation to support decision-making and knowledge sharing

About you

We’re looking for someone structured, analytical, and collaborative, with a passion for energy innovation. You likely have:

• A degree in Engineering, Economics, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in energy storage or renewable energy
• Solid understanding of both technical systems and market dynamics
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English. Additional languages such as Swedish, Finnish, Italian or Polish are a plus
• Experience working cross-functionally in international teams
• A proactive, solution-oriented mindset

Location & travel

The role is based in Stockholm or another OX2 office, occasional travel up to 15% may be required.
