Uplight is creating a new category of energy. We build software that manages energy resources in homes and businesses—including things like smart thermostats, electric vehicles, solar panels, storage batteries, heat pumps, and even people’s behavior—to generate, shift, or save energy to balance the grid, making it more efficient and reliable. This creates clean energy capacity that can be used by the power grid instead of burning more fossil fuels. Our solutions accelerate the transition to clean energy and save money for energy customers.

We are looking for a Solutions Engineer to drive our company forward, and help us lead the clean energy revolution!

How you will make an impact

• As a Solutions Engineer you will join our Industry Solutions team, a fast paced, results-oriented hands-on group focusing on delivering end-to-end business and technical solutions to Uplight’s customers and partners.
• Work closely with our Industry Solutions team to contribute to our responses to technical proposals, RFI/RFP/RFQs, and SOWs.
• Contribute to the management of solution and technical capability repositories that are utilized as part of our sales and business development process.
• Provide inputs and guidance to our use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools as part of our business development process.
• Utilize our demo and testing environments to help mock-up and test customer specific solutions during the sales process.
• Facilitate internal communication between teams on technical requirements as they apply to customer use cases and business outcomes.
• This role takes a systems approach, bringing products, services and support together, to construct a powerful and attractive offer for Uplight’s customers.

What you bring to Uplight

• Familiar with emerging energy industry trends and implications on our customers; including exposure to one or more of the following: virtual power plants, demand side management, storage solutions, grid management and customer engagement programs.
• Knowledge of the electricity/utility industry.
• Strong communication skills - both verbal and written - and experience crafting precise, clear, and understandable statements for complex solutions or technologies.
• Able to quickly grasp an understanding of customer business outcomes, and understand how product capabilities and requirements can come together to deliver these outcomes.
• Capability to perform basic data analyses to support quantification of customer business cases and outcomes.
• BS degree and 2-years of work experience.

Bonus points

• MS/PhD/MBA from a top tier school.
• Experience deploying software products in enterprise environments and collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
• Utility and/or energy market experience is highly desired.

Salary Range: $80,000 to $95,000 USD + Bonus

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate annual base compensation range is listed above. The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package and benefits, will be determined by a number of factors including the applicant's experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
