Position Summary
As a Solar and Storage Design Consultant (SDC), you advance the organization’s impact by consistently meeting performance targets in a fast-paced and ever-evolving industry. You work directly with potential customers through the sales life cycle, combining strong interpersonal skills with technical fluency in order to design, price, and sell custom residential solar and storage projects. You’ll join a high-performing team that leads with empathy & respect.
Responsibilities
- Continually achieve sales benchmarks by converting company-provided leads to projects
- Effectively and proactively communicate with prospective customers
- Accurately price and design projects to ensure a quality handoff to our operations team
- Stay up-to-date on products, warranties, code, and incentive programs
- Maintain Salesforce CRM records
- Participate in community events and/or a local organization in order to support long-term marketing and engagement strategies
- Travel up to 40% to prospective customers’ sites in the Portland metro area and other parts of Oregon.
Requirements
- 2+ years work experience where you’ve consistently achieved and exceeded goals under pressure
- 2+ years work experience that required strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with a wide variety of people
- Highly organized self-starter who can prioritize multiple projects and maintain attention to detail
- Creative and innovative thinker with strong problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace
- Reliable transportation
Preferred (Desired but not required)
- Bachelor’s Degree or in relevant field
- Technical sales experience
- NABCEP Certification in PV Technical Sales or other solar industry certifications
- Spanish language skills

Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive commission structure with a base salary of $30,000. Our top performers have the potential to earn $150,000 and beyond in total compensation. In addition to the commission and base pay, we provide:
- Base salary of $30,000
- Base salary increase upon earning NABCEP in PV Technical Sales
- Uncapped commission
- Bonus program for hitting team goals
