Do you enjoy solving technical problems and working directly with customers? Are you interested in renewable energy and looking for a role that combines remote technical support with hands-on field service?

We are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join PHOTOMATE in Finland.

In this role, you will provide technical support for photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and related energy technologies. You will work with customers remotely as well as on-site, taking responsibility for technical cases from initial diagnosis through troubleshooting and repair to final resolution.

What will you do?

• Provide remote technical support and manage customer service requests.
• Analyze system data, alarms, logs and monitoring information to identify technical faults.
• Diagnose electrical, electronic, communication and system-level issues.
• Guide customers through troubleshooting and provide clear technical instructions.
• Plan and perform service visits at customer sites across Finland.
• Carry out inspections, repairs, component replacements and electrical measurements.
• Support commissioning, recommissioning and system configuration when required.
• Verify correct system operation after repairs and maintenance.
• Cooperate with manufacturers, suppliers and internal technical teams on complex cases.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and update cases in CRM and ticketing systems.
• Take ownership of assigned service cases from initial reporting through to successful closure.

What are we looking for?

• At least 3 years of relevant technical experience, ideally in electrical engineering, PV, BESS, power systems, energy technologies or a related field.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Relevant Finnish electrical safety qualification/certification required for the work performed.
• Experience with PV, BESS or grid-connected systems is a strong advantage.
• Additional technical certificates related to PV, BESS, electrical systems or grid technologies are an advantage.
• Good general computer skills, including MS Office.
• Fluent Finnish and English, both written and spoken.
• Good communication skills and a professional, customer-oriented approach.
• Ability to work independently and take responsibility for technical cases.
• Willingness to travel regularly within Finland.

Employment: Full-time
Location: Finland
Salary: €3,000-€3,500 gross/month
Travel: Regular travel to customer sites within Finland
Start date: 1.10.2026 or by other agreement
