Job Description
Be part of a landmark project transforming Australia's energy future. Snowy 2.0 is the nation's larget renewable energy initative, expanding the iconic Snowy Scheme to deliver reliable power and critical energy storage. As the client-side Owner's Team, we lead the project's successful delivery, working closely with delivery partners and stakeholders to ensure Snowy Hydro's vision of a sustainable, reliable energy future becomes reality.
About the position
As a Project Engineer within our dynamic Civils team, you will hold a critical role in ensuring the success of our build project. This position is responsible for providing proactive, onsite oversight and assurance of all civil construction work. You'll work directly with our contractors to guarantee that all activity aligns perfectly with our contractual requirements and the Employers Requirements (ER), ensuring the project is delivered to the highest standards.
Project Engineer - Key Responsibilities
- Protect Project Integrity: You will be the on-the-ground expert, reviewing contractor documents and work to ensure every detail meets our high standards and specifications.
- Be a Proactive Problem-Solver: You'll constantly monitor the work to catch issues before they arise, preventing delays and safeguarding the long-term quality and integrity of the asset.
- Ensure Design Excellence: You will be the final check, verifying that all civil construction work flawlessly follows the latest designs and plans.
- Empower the Team: You'll provide essential technical guidance to the Site Surveillance and Assurance Officers, empowering our entire team to maintain the highest standards.
- Quality Control: You'll oversee all key inspections, tests and hold points, meticulously tracking progress and managing non-conformance reports.
- Lead with Clear Communication: You'll be the central hub for all quality assurance and non-confirmance communication, ensuring smooth and effective information flow through ACONEX.
You'll Bring To The Team
A strong foundation in engineering, backed by experience on major civil projects. Your expertise in construction, combined with your problem-solving skills, will be key to managing contractors effectively. You are an adaptable, responsible, and proactive team player, able to work both on-site and remotely. With your sharp communication and negotiation skills, you'll be ready to contribute from day one.
