Job Description
New Energy Nexus supports entrepreneurs and startups building breakthrough solutions to solve climate change and accelerate clean energy for all. Founded in California, we've mobilized $3.7B in investment and supported over 1,200 clean energy startups since 2004.
In Thailand, our mission is to grow a vibrant energy startup ecosystem by running accelerators, workforce training, ecosystem engagement, and funding programs that help entrepreneurs and corporations drive carbon neutrality.
What We Do in Thailand
- Startup Incubation & Acceleration: Programs that take climate/clean energy ideas from lab to market, scale startups, raise funds, and measure climate impact. Includes the Decarbonize Thailand Sandbox, Lab-to-Commercialization, She Wins Climate, and Green Buildings programs.
- Workforce Development: Solar technical and business training for EPCs and SMEs to expand rooftop solar adoption across residential, commercial, and government buildings.
- Ecosystem Building & Community Engagement: University bootcamps, networking events, and community outreach to inspire and connect clean energy entrepreneurs.
- Market Entry & Business Matching: Support later-stage startups with scaling opportunities, international soft-landing, and corporate partnerships.
The Role
We're seeking a highly motivated, strategic, and entrepreneurial leader to serve as Country Manager in Thailand. You will drive strategy, partnerships, fundraising, and program delivery to strengthen Thailand's clean energy innovation ecosystem.
This role provides the opportunity to work with senior executives, startup founders, think tanks, investors, and government stakeholders while leading a dynamic team to deliver high-impact programs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fundraising & Strategy (40%)
- Build and manage a pipeline of funders (government, foundations, private sector).
- Lead donor engagement, proposal development, and revenue generation activities.
- Lead annual workplans, OKRs, and team performance management.
- Translate strategy into program roadmaps across key themes (decarbonization, energy transition readiness, inclusive innovation, entrepreneurship).
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with government, corporates, universities, and civil society. Represent NEX at external engagements.
2. Program Management (40%)
- Oversee design and delivery of flagship programs (Decarbonize Thailand Symposium, Lab-to-Commercialization, Solar STEP, She Wins Climate).
- Coach and mentor team members to build capacity and effectiveness.
- Guide and support program staff in planning, execution, and monitoring. Provide advice to startup cohorts on go-to-market and business development.
- Ensure program impact measurement, adaptive learning, and reporting.
- Foster alignment and collaboration with NEX global and regional teams.
3. Operations (20%)
- Manage NEX Thailand's legal entity registration, compliance, and operational systems.
- Ensure finance, legal, and administrative processes meet local and global standards.
- Set up strong operational compliance system for finance, legal, administrative processes.
- Oversee program budgets, compliance, and impact reporting.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Excellent communication in Thai and English REQUIRED.
- Strong track record in fundraising, partnerships, or business development.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing programs.
- Familiarity with Thailand's clean energy, climate, or sustainability ecosystem.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, creativity, and passion for climate action.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in management consulting
- Experience in startup investment and fundraising
