The Opportunity

This is a pivotal leadership opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to lead a team of field professionals responsible for delivering critical maintenance and construction work programs across Transgrid's transmission network.

As a Field Manager, you'll provide leadership, structure, and operational oversight to ensure work is delivered safely on time, and to specification. You'll be accountable for managing people and performance, driving continuous improvement, and building technical capability within your team.

You will play a key role in connecting strategy to execution; supporting planning, influencing operational decisions, and helping shape how field operations are delivered safely and effectively across NSW.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of Field Coordinators and Technicians to deliver quality outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety, productivity, and operational performance.
  • Oversee program delivery to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and within budget.
  • Build workforce capability and technical proficiency through coaching and targeted development.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Operations, Planning, and Engineering to align work programs.

A Day in the Life as a Field Manager at Transgrid

In this role, you will:

  • Provide visible leadership across field sites, reinforcing Transgrid's safety-first culture.
  • Partner with technical experts and schedulers to optimise delivery and resource allocation.
  • Analyse work performance and implement lessons learnt to enhance delivery efficiency.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, contractors, and community partners to maintain trust.
  • Ensure work complies with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

About You

You will bring

  • Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) in a technical or engineering discipline.
  • Extensive experience managing field operations or large-scale maintenance programs.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate others.
  • Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, and operational performance.
  • Confidence in using ERP, Power BI, and digital systems to inform decision-making.
