Role
The Mechanical team in CorPower is looking for a Structural analyst to take an important role in the development and optimisation of our innovative wave energy converters.
The role will be working closely with the mechanical design team but will involve a large amount of interaction with our entire engineering team, supply chain as well as integration and testing, requiring good collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis (strength, fatigue, modal) of products in ANSYS Mechanical
- Prepare reports & presentation materials for internal, external and certification purposes
- Prepare FEA models from Creo CAD files (managed in WindChill PLM)
- Produce engineering calculations (pre-FEA and verification)
- Define & support best practices for how FEA can be used effectively in the development process
- Investigate new solutions to improve processes, performance, reliability or manufacturability
- Manage your tasks to meet performance, schedule and budget targets
- Support pilot installations in the field
Skills and qualifications
You have a BSc or a M.Sc. degree in mechanical/structural engineering or related disciplines with minimum of 2 years of relevant analysis experience. Proficiency in working with steady-state analysis of solid models is essential (ideally in ANSYS). Experience with composite and PED product analysis and working in accordance with DNV standards is advantageous. We value strong communication skills and the ability to work in a small agile team. You are highly proficient in English.
