Job Description

It's an exciting time to be part of the energy transition at Jacobs as our Energy & Power business continues to experience rapid growth. We are working with established clients across the globe to deliver the Energy Transition. From major renewable energy projects and firming generation to high voltage direct current inter-country interconnectors and offshore grids, we're integrating a multitude of these solution elements to build a cleaner and more resilient energy future.

Join our Sydney-based Energy & Power team as a Senior Project Manager, where you'll lead the delivery of cutting-edge Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects and contribute to the development of wind energy initiatives. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong technical and commercial acumen, and a passion for delivering impactful energy infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of BESS projects, managing all phases from design through to construction while ensuring technical compliance and project governance.
  • Oversee multidisciplinary teams and engineering consultancies, driving collaboration and aligning efforts to meet project goals.
  • Ensure financial performance and risk management, maintaining accountability for budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Support business development initiatives, including proposal writing, bidding strategies, and client engagement to secure new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with delivery leads and bid managers to optimise resource allocation and implement process improvements across project portfolios.
  • Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of safety, innovation, and collaboration, while actively engaging with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.

  • Proven track record in delivering large-scale BESS projects, with additional experience in wind energy highly regarded.
  • Strong background in managing complex energy and power sector projects, supported by knowledge of electrical engineering principles.
  • Demonstrated leadership in building and guiding high-performing teams, fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Advanced expertise in project financials, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring successful project outcomes.
  • Familiarity with key contract types such as EPC and OE, contributing to effective project structuring and execution.
  • Versatile experience across consulting and construction-side infrastructure delivery, bringing a well-rounded industry perspective.
