The Opportunity
Zenobē is looking to hire an experienced Senior Procurement Manager, BESS to help deliver some of the largest battery energy storage (BESS) assets in the UK. The role will play an integral part in the growing Procurement Team and support in shaping its future way of working to deliver on Zenobē's growth plans. The candidate should be comfortable supporting multiple live development projects on a multi-contracting basis, and flexible in supporting the wider business needs as required.
The primary focus of the role with be leading in sourcing and negotiating contracts for our BESS development projects.
A Taste of the Day to Day
- Reporting functionally to the Director of Procurement and Contracts - NI
- Responsible for leading and developing procurement & contract strategies, sourcing & negotiating BESS contracts on Zenobē's live BESS development projects
- Support and help lead central procurement initiatives, including reviewing and developing new processes and procedures & improving on existing ones.
- Lead development and negotiation of key strategic framework agreements across the business
- Support improvement initiatives on Zenobē's existing contractual forms
- Support in building a culture of lessons learned and continuous improvement
- Support in developing SRM strategies across the business
- Develop and maintain good business relationships with new and existing suppliers & internal and external stakeholders
- Support in the contract management phase as required

- 5 Years' + experience in BESS / renewables Procurement with relevant qualifications (e.g., CIPS) preferred
- The preferred candidate will hold relevant experience in the procurement of battery energy storage system assets and/or other generation or infrastructure assets
- A relationship builder with established contacts in the BESS market
- Project experience on a multi-contracting basis
- Experience with FIDIC, NEC, and other forms of contract
- Experienced in full end-to-end procurement and contract management, including formalising strategies, SRM, sourcing, negotiation, claims, variation, and cost management
- A genuine passion for renewable energy
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (legal, engineering, construction, finance, etc)
- Experience in developing and rolling out new procurement processes & procedures across a business
- Support international projects as Zenobe grows its international portfolio of BESS projects
