Job Description

Are you ready to make a significant impact in the renewable energy sector? BayWa r.e. Projects Australia is on the lookout for a dynamic and passionate Commercial Manager - Grid, in our Grid team to spearhead the development and construction of cutting-edge onshore wind, solar, and BESS projects across the NEM.

What You Will Do

  • Lead with Excellence: Manage project scope, program, budget, and commercial aspects with technical brilliance.
  • Build Connections: Use your exceptional communication skills to foster strong relationships with industry leaders, NSPs, AEMO, contractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Be a Key Player: Your established industry relationships will be highly valued as you navigate and influence the renewable energy landscape.
  • Expand Your Horizons: Work on exciting projects not just in Australia, but across other APAC countries, broadening your experience and impact.
  • Global Collaboration: Gain access to our global team, sharing insights and innovations from around the world.
  • Innovate and Mentor: Support the development of internal capabilities and processes, and mentor peers in the team.
  • Strategize and Negotiate: Negotiate generator performance standards and provide input for internal decision points and commercial discussions, including EPC and HV works contracts.

What You'll need to Succeed

  • Experience: Over 5 years in grid connection of large utility-scale projects in the NEM
  • Negotiation Skills and Commercial Expertise: Successfully negotiated at least a couple of grid connection agreements for large utility-scale projects in the NEM.
  • Technical Expertise: Understanding of power systems and electrical engineering concepts, with knowledge in grid connection studies and power system models.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of NEM operations and regulatory requirements for transmission and distribution network connections.
  • Multitasking Ability: Ability to prioritize multiple project workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
