We are looking for a Development Manager to develop, maintain and support medium voltage electrical systems for our future-proof engine power plants. Main location is Vaasa, Finland. Other locations in proximity to a Wärtsilä offices in Finland (Helsinki, Turku) will be considered. We offer a possibility to hybrid work model.
Responsibilities
- Lead design, development, and maintenance of MV electrical solutions in cooperation with internal stakeholders, external partners, and suppliers
- Customer focus on managing a future-proof portfolio of MV systems, Protection philosophies and relevant equipment ensuring quality, cost, and timeliness accountability
- Drive the MV systems development with a strong focus on advanced data and digital capabilities
- Update technology and secure needed technical support to stakeholders' community (e.g. Sales and Delivery Projects)
- Actively maintain and develop field installation experience follow-up and continuous improvements
- Establish and maintain cooperation with system experts, product owners, and product managers
Requirements
- MSc or BSc (Electrical/relevant engineering discipline) with 5+ years of relevant working experience
- Hands-on technical knowledge about MV systems/equipment (e.g., Switchgear, protection relays)
- Knowledge of short circuit studies and fault current analysis in MV systems, with an understanding of protection coordination principles
- Knowledge of relevant compliance and industry standards including safety
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent planning and execution skills
- Positive, results-driven and team player
- Effective communication skills in an international and multicultural environment
- Fluent in written, spoken, and presentation skills in English
