Job Description
As Storage Commercial Projects Analyst Lead you will lead the revenue strategy and valuation modeling for standalone and hybrid energy storage projects, including trading, ancillary services, and hybrid PPAs.
It involves cross-functional coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders to optimize project sizing, structure commercial agreements, and support auction strategies.
The position also oversees market monitoring, tool development, and team capability building to drive strategic decision-making and investment readiness.
What will you do
- Define how to monetize our storage projects (stand alone, co-located and hybrid), including among others the following mechanisms: Day ahead and intraday trading, Primary (FCR), secondary (aFRR) and other ancillary services, System services and grid support, Hybrid PPAs
- Manage the revenue and techno-economic models for energy storage (standalone or hybrid), supporting investment valuation and optimization in close collaboration with BD, PPA, and Trading teams.
- Coordinate with PPA/Offtake internal experts to engage with key offtake stakeholders such as traders, optimizers, utilities, and forecasting partners.
- Establish valuation approaches for repowering, hybrid RES-BESS projects optimal sizing, and readiness of forecaster data for investment models (IMs).
- Support the financial modelling team for adapting the Project Financial Model to accommodate storage and hybrids projects.
- Support regulated auction bidding strategy and pricing definition, including analysis of auction rules, revenue structures, and associated risks.
- Support the structuring of offers and negotiation of Battery Optimization Agreements or Tolling Agreements, considering market features and risk profiles.
- Serve as the focal point for techno-economic tools (e.g. IMs, revenue modeling, HybOp), supporting local Business Analysts /Project Teams in sizing & revenue optimization of their projects.
- Decide when to outsource analytical activities (e.g. optimal sizing, revenue modeling) to external advisors to ensure quality and efficiency.
- Monitor and analyze energy market trends, regulatory changes and market data to inform strategy, calibrate in-house tools, and assess hybrid project valuations
- Identify training needs and additional resourcing requirements for Business Analysts (BAs) to strengthen team capabilities.
What you'll need to succeed
- 5+ years' experience in energy market design, revenue modeling, investment valuation, and strategy-focused on storage and hybrid systems.
- Academic background in engineering or mathematics, complemented by economics.
- Strong grasp of European energy markets, grid services, trading mechanisms, and BESS regulations.
- Deep understanding of energy storage economics, hybrid applications, and forecasting methodologies.
- Skilled in techno-economic and investment modeling.
- Familiar with auction mechanisms and commercial contract structuring (e.g. tolling, battery optimization).
- Proven leadership in cross-functional coordination, stakeholder engagement, and team development.
- International exposure across APAC, EMEA, US, or Latam is a plus.
- Excellent communicator with strategic decision-making skills
- fluent in English, other languages a plus.
