Job Description
GOLDBECK SOLAR is a leading provider of turnkey solar systems on commercial roofs and ground mounted utility scale PV power plants. With our team of dedicated employees, we develop, plan, build, operate and finance photovoltaic systems in Germany, Europe and worldwide - tailor-made with a standardized approach.
What you can expect
As the HSE Manager (m/f/d), you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining Health, Safety and Environmental management systems across all our UK projects and offices. You will ensure full compliance with UK legislation, company policies, and group-wide standards. In this key position, you will drive a strong safety culture, support project teams and subcontractors, and act as the main point of contact for all HSE-related matters.
Tasks
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE management systems in line with UK regulations (e.g. CDM 2015, ISO 45001, ISO 14001) and Group standards
- Ensure compliance with all applicable HSE legislation, codes of practice, and client requirements
- Support alignment of UK HSE systems with corporate policies and reporting structures
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments across solar construction and O&M sites
- Ensure site teams and subcontractors follow company HSE policies and statutory obligations
- Manage Permit to Work processes, toolbox talks, method statements, and safe systems of work
- Review and approve Construction Phase Plans, RAMS, and other HSE documentation prior to project start
- Promote a proactive safety culture through training, awareness activities, and visible leadership
- Act as a key contact for project managers, site supervisors and subcontractors
- Deliver HSE standards to clients, auditors and internal staff.
- Coordinate HSE training across the workforce
Profile
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in HSE roles, ideally within: Solar PV construction, EPC / general construction, electrical or high-voltage infrastructure as well as civil engineering
- Experience managing HSE requirements across multiple UK construction sites
- Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation, including:
- CDM 2015 Regulations
- HSE Guidance (HSG)
- Work at Height Regulations
- Manual Handling, PUWER, LOLER, COSHH
- RIDDOR
- Experience advising Principal Contractors and subcontractors on regulatory compliance
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence teams at all levels
