Position Summary

We are seeking a self-driven and passionate individual to join our engineering and project execution team to deliver zero-carbon industrial heat and power with our novel solid state thermal battery. We are a tight-knit team that loves what we do and we strive to have an impact, working with humility and openness while building lifelong relationships along the way.

As a Project Engineer, you will work on the balance-of-plant (BOP) systems for Antora Energy's thermal energy storage projects across test and commercial sites. You will be a key technical member of a cross-functional and rapidly growing organization as we deploy our first commercial scale projects.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate engineering resources, internal and external, to design, construct, commission, and troubleshoot the balance-of-plant system.
  • Ensure project technical documentation (PFD's, P&IDs, SLDs, Cause & Effect, etc) are aligned across Antora engineering and external parties; including change management, RFIs, and final as-built drawings. Work with document control resources to facilitate required engineering reviews prior to documents being issued for construction.
  • Review discipline design deliverables (Mechanical, Structural, Electrical) to confirm design requirements are met and facilitate successful field implementation.
  • Review or create construction work plans and submittal packages. Support generation of commissioning plans and hand-over of Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) to the commissioning team. Support engineering in handing over documentation to the plant operations team.
  • Support the Supply Chain and Procurement teams by writing requests for proposals, reviewing quotes, and evaluating vendor technical capabilities.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager on project cost, schedule, and risks. Maintain the project action log and drive resolution of open items.
  • Support engineering, construction, and commissioning phases of project by having an in-person presence for both ensuring proper coordination between technical resources and quality compliance to engineering design.
  • Typical travel of 25%

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelors or equivalent in an engineering field (e.g. civil, construction management, industrial, process, chemical, etc.) and/or 5+ years' experience in industrial project engineering (oil & gas, chemicals, power plants, etc.).
  • Have worked for, or with, EPC teams.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications. (PFD's, P&IDs, SLDs, Cause & Effect, etc)
  • Experience working independently, as well as working in a team-orientated and fast-paced startup-like environment.

Additional Qualifications Desired

  • Experience in construction and commissioning of process plants or other industrial facilities.
  • Proficient in using construction estimating practices, software and tools (ACCE, ICARUS).
  • Familiarity with 3D CAD (Solidworks, Navisworks), 2D drawings (AutoCAD).
  • Have a PE in a related discipline.
  • Technical writing: equipment specifications and technical reports.
  • Vendor and client relations.
  • Managing contractors.

Salary Range: $165,000 USD - $180,000 USD

Salary Basis: Annual
