Job Description

The Senior Manager, Steel Sourcing will be based in Hyderabad, India. In this position, you will report to the India Steel Sourcing Director. Nextracker is seeking for a Senior Manager to reinforce its Indian sourcing team and support its expanding steel supplier development in the Region. The Sourcing department is responsible for driving the Total Cost of Ownership through deploying category/region/supplier-specific strategies and establishing strategic relationship with core suppliers. The Sourcing Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of suppliers in the country and driving the Cost of Ownership for steel or other products she/he will oversee. Here is a glimpse of what you will do

• Understand technical and economic requirements of the products as well as specific project needs
• Develop a sourcing strategy to optimize the cost/quality of the products, meet the demand and meet all necessary requirements
• Work with Sales/Planning to review demand trends
• Negotiate, close and manage long-term master supply agreements in line with the sourcing strategy
• Establish and maintain executive level relationship with key stakeholders of the value chain in India including steel mills, steel manufacturers etc.
• Analyze markets and perform supplier screening and qualification
• Prepare and manage Requests for Quotation (RFQs)
• Assess supplier performance on a quarterly basis,
• This position will be supported by a Sourcing analyst.

Here is some of what you will need (required)

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent experience with minimum 10+ years of experience in sourcing in Indian steel industry.
• Advanced Negotiation skills.
• Strong knowledge of commercial contracts in India steel sector
• Experience with India manufacturers in particular flat steel mills, tubing and stamping companies, service centers.
• Solid structuring and analytical skills to keep track of multiple projects and vendors, in an international and multicultural environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to report and present a strategy at executive level
• Advanced communication skills (written and verbal)
• Fluent oral and written communications at least in English
• Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills as a significant part of the team and suppliers are remote
