The Investment Manager (Baltic Sea Region) will play a key role in overseeing and optimizing the company's portfolio within the Baltic Sea Region. This individual will lead critical commercial activities, drive investment decision-making, and contribute to the long-term growth and success of our projects in the region. The role involves leadership in managing Northland's investments in the region, supporting the origination and commercial structuring of new opportunities, and the coordination of internal & external stakeholders; all aimed at maximizing the value of the company's investments.

Key Responsibilities

Investment Oversight and Management

  • Monitor the financial and operational performance of existing renewable energy assets, including joint ventures.
  • Maintain an 'issues list' of key commercial issues, negotiate favourable positions for Northland in respect of these and escalate internally if required.
  • Maintain 'asset bible' of key documents.

Financial Modelling and Valuation

  • Maintain and update internal and external financial models for each asset in the region, reflecting latest market conditions, regulatory changes and operational data.
  • Support refinancing, divestment and strategic reviews by providing scenario analysis and valuation insights.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Treasury teams to ensure consistency in assumptions and reporting.

Commercial Management

  • Support subject matter experts within Northland in commercial initiatives such as offtake agreements, service agreements and other commercial contracts.
  • Support negotiations and manage contractual obligations including PPAs, land leases and O&M agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and permitting requirements and proactively manage commercial risks.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary contact for Polish project partners, including Orlen and other JV stakeholders.
  • Attend networking events as required (e.g., conferences)
  • Coordinate with internal teams (e.g. legal, technical, tax) as required and support due diligence for new projects.

Reporting, Governance and Internal Management

  • Support Northland's project board members in respect of analysing JV reports and similar.
  • Collaborate with global investment management colleagues to share learnings and align on best practices.
  • Prepare board-level investment memos, strategic updates and support internal approvals as required.

Who you are

  • Excellent analytics and problem-solving skills, able to identify and address challenges proactively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with senior stakeholders and external partners.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience in investment management, with a strong focus on renewable energy projects.
  • Experience in financial modelling, valuations, and commercial structuring of energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of Polish and other regional energy markets, regulatory environments, and operational risks within the renewable energy sector.
  • Deep knowledge of the renewables industry, including technical, regulatory, and financial aspects.
  • A strategic thinker with a results-driven approach to optimizing investment portfolios and maximizing returns.
  • Fluency in both Polish and English is essential.
