Job Description

Our Business Area (BA) Markets is looking for the right person to fill the position as Renewables Portfolio Manager for our office in Hamburg.

The key aspects of the Renewables Portfolio Management role are to

  • Portfolio Pricing & Optimization: Price and optimize long- and short-term Renewable Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs);
  • Trading Strategy Development: Design and execute trading strategies for power, certificates and FX. Including hedging and optimization in close collaboration with our Trading Desk;
  • Market Expansion: Provide analytical support to scale up non-standard power contracts in the UK and German markets;
  • Modeling & Infrastructure: Enhance modeling tools and hedging approaches, driving the development of state-of-the-art portfolio management systems and procedures;
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Manage data flows and foster collaboration with portfolio managers, originators, traders, analysts and developers;
  • Risk & Compliance: Work closely with the risk department on P&L and risk reporting;
  • System Implementation: Support back-office and IT teams in deploying new systems and processes.

To succeed in this role, you should also bring

  • A completed university degree in a commercial or technical field, or a comparable qualification;
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in the energy trading industry, with a proven track record in managing risks in renewable energies;
  • Experience in German/UK power wholesale markets and significant experience in portfolio management (Certs, FX, ...);
  • A strong analytical and structured way of thinking, combined with excellent organizational skills;
  • A team-oriented mindset, excellent communication skills, and a solution-driven approach;
  • A high level of initiative and the ability to work independently;
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required.
