Position Summary

The Warehouse Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting the Warehouse Supervisor and Manager in supporting daily warehouse operations, ensuring the inbound/outbound, handling, posting and distribution of goods. This supervisory-level position demands a solid foundation in warehouse operations, staff coordination, and adherence to regulatory standards. The Warehouse Specialist will work closely with the Warehouse Supervisor and ultimately align with the direction of the Warehouse Manager to uphold operational excellence and maintain a safe, orderly environment within the warehouse.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in carrying out all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, and the distribution of goods;
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of effective inventory control systems and participate in regular audits to verify accuracy and mitigate losses;
  • Assist the Warehouse Supervisor, under the overall direction of the Hiring Manager, in coordinating with the Accounting team to ensure accurate inventory tracking, timely reporting, and adherence to budgetary guidelines
  • Ensure all warehouse activities comply with health and safety regulations, promote a culture of safety, and participate in routine safety training;
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity within warehouse operations;
  • Assist with tactical efforts to help facilitate management efforts related to planning and managing warehouse space utilization to maximize storage capacity and optimize workflow;
  • Carry out and functions using the warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technological tools to streamline operations effectively;
  • Assist the Warehouse Supervisor to help track expenditures in supporting budget management, including cost control and preparation of financial reports;

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of at least 3 years' experience in warehouse operations, ideally in a high-volume manufacturing facility. (A senior specialist should bring 4 to 5 years in such roles). Also warehouse operations experience should include strong skills and background with SAP and Microsoft office
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree (preferred) or other training in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field though open to those without advanced education but with solid experience.
  • Proven expertise in warehouse support functions, ideally within manufacturing sectors;
  • Some working knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software;
  • Working familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to warehouse operations;
  • Strong communication skills
  • Forklift certification is preferred
